Bio-based high performance fibers

Bio-based materials are renewable material which can potentially replace petroleum-based materials; they are of vital importance in the development of emerging new materials industry. However, how to improve the utilization efficiency of bio-based materials needs further exploration. This research direction mainly focuses on the fabrication of bio-based high-performance fibers and the possibilities of converting these fibers into low-cost carbon fibers.
